Job Description






Start date:                              ASAP 

Hours:                                    flexible - approx 15 hours per week/part-time

Days:                                      Monday - Friday

Location:                               UK/ Europe - remote

Fixed Payment:                     $1,170 monthly

Variable Payment:                Discretionary 20% Annual Bonus 

Reporting into:                      CEO

Contract Term:                      Initial 12 months ( 3-month probation period), thereafter rolling contract with 2 month notice period

Contract Basis                      Self-employed





Membership management

Working alongside CEO and Regional Manager, provide key administration support for new member onboarding and day to day member enquiries.

Review our membership benefits offering and marketing materials and present ideas on how to optimise.

Membership renewal and invoice management: Provide monthly Admin for chasing annual membership invoice renewals and reconciliation for membership status 

Each month, work closely with AFEM accounts to ensure any manual invoices are drafted and provided to CEO and RM for renewal discussions

New member onboarding admin - updating of membership spreadsheets, MemberPress and  AFEM website when new members join; liaise with new members for their logos and company biogs for inclusion on AFEM socials and website 

Provide general admin support for new members - eg password fixes, introductions, replacement log-in details etc

Encourage members to provide team contact details to enable wider access to and use of the Members Directory

Adding/removing members from the AFEM website pages, membership database, working groups and Mailchimp

Managing annual board election ballot administration



Campaigns and Initiatives

 Support AFEM team and Working Group Chairs to diarise and deliver quarterly meetings/presentations and engage group participants

Conference activities

Build/maintain relationships with key global conferences and work with CEO and RM to develop panel and event opportunities.

Support AFEM team and working group chairs in delivery of member meetings at key conferences. (Group meetings and one-to-one)

Provide diary support for team

Event admin support where needed - managing guest lists etc

Event planning with Events & Comms Manager and CEO as required

Act as panel/event moderator of AFEM representative as appropriate




You have excellent communication skills (written and spoken), strong customer-focus and an ability to build and maintain good working relationships with our global membership at all levels.

You have strong organisational skills, great attention to detail and can achieve high levels of accuracy across AFEM’s membership administration tasks

You have a positive, can-do mindset, are a friendly, professional and supportive team player.

You are a pro-active, self-starter who is equally comfortable taking instructions as you are to taking the initiative. 

You are tech-savvy, experienced in using standard office tools such as Google docs, Dropbox, Microsoft Word, Excel (Powerpoint and Wordpress/Memberpress are a bonus!) and happy to learn new CRM systems as required

You have a deep passion for electronic music and its culture and believe in community values. 

You are keen to build your network and further your understanding of the dance and electronic music ecosystem

You are willing to travel internationally to attend conferences if needed, help deliver events and positively represent AFEM in various public settings.

You enjoy doing a wide and varied range of work and don’t mind going the extra mile when needed.

You enjoy both collaborative and self-directed projects and can work effectively in each.

You are resourceful and can work effectively with limited resources.



You have a broad understanding of the music industry and how its various sectors interact. 

You have working knowledge of/passion for one or more of the following areas:   artist management/booking agency; diversity and inclusion; mental health and wellbeing;  environmental sustainability issues; music-related technology; music streaming/distribution; music rights management (e.g through label,publishing, royalties or collection societies); live events/festivals sector

You have experience in organising on-and-off-line meetings encompassing large numbers of people from a wide variety of backgrounds (and if you don’t have this experience you are highly confident that this is something you could do)    

You are interested in conference end event work, potentially moderating panel discussions and/or speaking on panels

You have a creative and innovative approach to your work and how you collaborate with others.
