Job Description


Role: Nightclub Bar manager 

Location: Corsica Studios, Elephant & Castle, London

Contract Type: Part time, 15-30 hours per week. £12.5 ph 

We're looking for an experienced assertive leader to take charge off all things bar!



  • Ensure drinks are prepared and served according to company standards
  • Involved in the setting of service and quality standards, and to monitor and strive for their achievement
  • Ensure the bar are prepared according to standards
  • Be proactive in maximising sales and generating revenue
  • Be an effective communicator with guests/clients and at all levels of the venue
  • Oversee accurate till procedures and ensure all necessary paperwork is complete
  • Ensure adherence to cash management procedures
  • Delegate duties and tasks to staff to meet objectives and maximise resources
  • Monitor, anticipate and react to customer needs consistently to ensure maximum guest satisfaction and feedback concerns top management. 
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness throughout the bars, organise deep cleans when necessary
  • Have clear working knowledge of all company policies and operate within them at all times
  • Promote and practice compliance with fire, health, safety and hygiene standards and regulations
  • Undertake any other duties as and when required by Senior Management
  • To attend meetings as required


  • Supervise the team in a fair, consistent and responsible way
  • Motivate and be proactive in encouraging team commitment and spirit
  • Give clear direction and guidelines to team members
  • Ensure rota and time sheets are completed accurately
  • Ensure staff awareness of relevant company policies – bar policy, H&S and fire policy
  • Communicate effectively with, and cooperate/ assist other departments at all levels when necessary
  • Coach individual team members to develop their skills and maximise performance
  • Communicate effectively through various methods such as regular briefings/meetings and individual discussions
  • Share ideas and problems with the team and encourage their input in helping make decisions where possible
  • Lead regular bar training to ensure high standards in bar tending 


  • Implementing and/or following of procedures concerning recording of stock movements 
  • Estimating stock requirements and placing orders for individual events
  • Check stock is correctly rotated and stored to reduce wastage
  • Ensure accurate stock-takes are carried out according to company policy and oversee stock control consistently
  • Ensure stock items behind the bars are always within expiry date


The majority of hours worked during the weekends – total hours each week will vary according to the balance of shifts. Due to the nature of the work, you will be required to work evenings/nights (including public holidays).
