JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The LA Kings are seeking a best-in-class motion graphics designer to join their creative team. The LA Kings are excited to build and reimagine their content and in-arena experience. The ideal candidate is a visionary designer and story-teller who will develop innovative and unique creative across all visual mediums.

The Motion Graphics Designer will bring their excitement and proven ability to ideate, develop and deliver innovative motion concepts in line with brand guidelines while pushing to explore new creative methods to elevate the overall LA Kings brand and fan experience in Crypto.com Arena. They should have demonstrated understanding of entertainment best practices, motion graphic trends, and creative design. The position requires a person to be highly attentive to details, organized, and comfortable working under a deadline and fast paced Sports/Entertainment environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Brainstorm, conceptualize, and execute creative ideas for long form, short form, event, and arena visual initiatives.
• Assist in the production and creation of graphic elements that effectively activate on our partnership initiatives, as well as utilize all aspects of Digital Signage to greatly enhance the event themes.
• Execute VFX, including, but not limited to, green screen compositing, rotoscoping, alpha mattes, and transition graphics.
• Prioritize and filter workload coming from all departments through a design request form system.
• Support LA Kings digital, social, in-game and production departments as project coordinator for LA Kings and affiliated brands.
• Assist in executing marketing campaigns and sales promotions to reach and retain fans through visual assets, video, and interactive experiences.
• Utilize digital asset management systems to aggregate media for motion graphic execution.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

The Motion Graphics Designer must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities:

• Strong Portfolio showcasing design/motion work
• Working knowledge of in-game/live entertainment technology, production, and ability to meet tight timelines
• Advanced knowledge of After Effects
• Strong Skills in Adobe CC; including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat
• Basic 3D knowledge (Cinema 4D). Advanced 3D skills a plus
• Excellent layout, color theory, and typography skills
• HTML experience or knowledge preferred
• Strong attention to detail and a pulse on current and trendy design styles on in-game, social and fan platforms
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and turn projects around quickly
• Editing knowledge/experience is a plus but not required

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education:

• BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Graphic Design, VFX, or related field)

Experience:

• A minimum of 3+ years of related work experience
