Warehouse Operative / Forklift Truck Driver

Based: High Wycombe
Term: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £20500 – £21500 pa + excellent benefits

General Position Summary:

  • Responsibility for processing of raw material components ready for production and assisting with receiving goods into stock.
  • To ensure that work orders are prepared accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with the production or delivery plan.
  • Picking and issuing of all material to work orders, and the return of rejected items from production.
  • Monitor work order shortages.
  • Ensure all items are stored safely within the warehouse maintaining the correct physical location against the ERP.
  • Competent use of ERP systems and understanding of works orders.
  • Assist with cycle counting and other ad-hoc counts of raw material component inventory.
  • Competent use of counter balance and reach forklift trucks
  • Operation of manual handling equipment.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Outlook, Word and Office 365.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Previous experience of ERP or WMS systems advantageous.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

Secondary Functions:

  • Support and assist warehouse team leader in the investigation and resolution of any discrepancies identified.
  • Process goods despatched internally and via 3rd party warehouse.
  • Maintain stock accuracy and ensure all items are clearly labelled.
  • Working with other departments to ensure that purchasing requirements are met within the required process.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse and loading bay.
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed within the warehouse and report unsafe acts.
  • To assist with the movement of products between warehouse and/or locations.
  • Receiving of goods from suppliers into stock, ensuring supplier documentation is accurate and reporting any discrepancies or quality issues.
  • Assist if required in the assembly of finished goods and/or related sub-assemblies/accessories
  • Adhere to Company policies and work requirements.
  • Other operations functions as required.

Job Conditions:

You are expected to work at the company head office in High Wycombe on a full time basis 37.5 hours per week, over the standard working hours of 7.30am to 4.15pm, Monday to Thursday and 7.30pm to 12:00pm on Friday. 30 minutes is allowed for lunch Monday to Thursday. On occasion you may be asked to work overtime, for which additional overtime rates will apply.
