Embedded Software Engineer
Term: Full-time, Permanent
Location: High Wycombe, with potential for some remote working
Salary: £35000 - £55000 pa + excellent benefits
Are you a passionate and determined Embedded Software Engineer looking for their next opportunity? Focusrite offer a chance to work at the cutting edge of Audio Technology, creating innovative, market-leading products for use in world-class recording studios, live sound, broadcast and post-production facilities, and education.
You will develop high quality real-time embedded software for our networked audio interfaces, participating in the whole product lifecycle - refining product specifications, producing innovative designs, generating estimates, resolving issues - as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.

You should apply for this role if you have:
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with C and C++ in at least one of the following embedded environments:
- Embedded Linux and/or FreeRTOS
- XMOS microcontrollers
- ARM Cortex-M and/or Cortex-A
- Enthusiasm for working with and supporting a multidisciplinary development team
- Confident written and verbal communications: you will need to be able to clearly articulate problems, estimates and approaches for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Some experience of the trade-offs and constraints involved in embedded firmware design approaches
- Active interest in music technology, production or audio engineering
It would be advantageous if you have some of the following:
- Previous industry experience in firmware development roles, including any or all of the following:
- Agile and/or Scrum team workflows
- Git version control
- Continuous Integration setup and maintenance
- Development of automated integration and system tests
- Test-Driven Development workflow
- Experience of bare-metal embedded development
- A technical or engineering-based degree
- Confident Python and/or Bash scripting skills
