What you’ll be doing...
We offer two apps, a customer-facing app “RA Guide” (iOS and Android), and a business-to-business app “RA Ticket Scanner” (iOS only). You’ll be maintaining and adding new functionality to these apps. This could be improving the ticket buying experience, building new events recommendation features or tools for promoters.
We work using an agile methodology, and you will have product management, design and data support. and you will often be working directly with other parts of the wider company.
We’re looking for…
We're not looking for a specific list of experience or skills, we believe that a capacity to learn and to pick up new skills is more important than knowing a particular technology.
You will need to have professional or personal working on an iOS or Android app on Apple’s or Google’s respective app stores. As this is a cross-platform role you’ll be working on both Android and iOS apps. Experience in iOS is required, and Android would be beneficial, but is not required. You will also need to have experience working in an agile development team.
You’ll be able to write code in a maintainable and testable way, and produce solutions to a high quality. You’ll also need to be comfortable taking ownership of projects, and weighing different approaches against each other. You’ll use your knowledge of design patterns and systems architecture to contribute to implementation discussions.
Tech that we use…
We use Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android. Along with recently modularising our iOS app we have begun migrating from UIKit to SwiftUI. Interacting with the backend is done over REST and GraphQL APIs.
We use CircleCI for continuous integration and Firebase for AB testing, server-side feature switches, crash reporting and analytics.
If we like your application, we will do an initial call with you to make sure your expectations match up with ours for the role. If you’re successful we will send you a short coding task to complete in your own time. We will then invite you to a face-to-face or video interview to talk through your task and ask you some general non-technical questions. This will be the final round and, if you’re successful we will get back to you with an offer.
The closing date for this application will be at the end of January.
