Extreme Music, formed in 1997, is renowned in the industry and around the world for its boundary-pushing approach to production music. Its A-list roster has yielded diverse award-winning collections and includes artists and composers such as Quincy Jones, Hans Zimmer, Sir George Martin, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, and Junkie XL to name a few. Extreme's client and project list is a veritable who's who or what's what in the entertainment field working with all major networks and studios, ad agencies and production companies. Extreme Music is headquartered in London, with its creative operations based in a 7,500 square-foot production compound in Santa Monica, California. Extreme Music is the Production Music House under Sony Music Publishing.

Job Purpose: The primary focus of this position is keywording and tagging music for the Extreme Music library. The secondary focus is assisting the US Music Team with overflow music searches. Looking for the perfect addition to our hard-working, and fun-loving team in LA!

What You’ll Do:

  • Re-keyword the older Extreme Music catalogue so it stays current and up to date with new standards

  • Tag all versions of tracks, so they are searchable throughout the system

  • Curate specialty playlists for Extreme Music website and editor’s landing page

  • Support the Manager of Music Services with the organization of the library metadata

  • Assist US Music Team in overflow music searches for Extreme Music clients


Who You Are:

  • You are passionate and knowledgeable about Music

  • You have the ability to consistently work under pressure in a professional manor; excellent problem solver

  • You have the ability to use analytical thought process to make fast paced decisions

  • You are self-motivated and enthusiastic

  • You should have the ability to change focus and prioritize based on client’s needs

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in music & music tagging (preferred)

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume frequently require extended working hours for evening and late-night events
