Position Summary:

Do you love creating exciting and engaging content to help elevate a brand’s online presence? Are you passionate about telling stories in a uniquely visual way? We are hiring a Senior Social Media Specialist to create content and manage social strategy for SiriusXM’s Brand Instagram account. This person will spearhead the creative strategy, planning, and execution of content for Instagram. The ideal candidate will have Entertainment or music industry experience and a deep understanding of internet culture. This role lives on the Audience Engagement team and is located at our NYC office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive editorial planning for Instagram, working cross-functionally with stakeholders on the Marketing and Programming teams
  • Create engaging assets on a daily basis for Instagram Feed and Stories using the Adobe suite of products
  • Write social copy, manage day-to-day content creation, publishing, and fan engagement on Brand Instagram
  • Experience with motion graphics that can be specifically applied to Instagram Stories, and ability to create content that can be re-framed for other platforms
  • Frame content through appropriate creative strategy (motion graphics, visual graphic, photo, video) and work towards an overall creative aesthetic for Instagram
  • Quickly make clean and creative graphics on short notice
  • Understand how to create and produce the same piece of content differently for each social platform
  • Ideate around reoccurring video franchises, developing innovative ideas to help increase brand relevance
  • Help guide Instagram strategy for other SiriusXM social verticals, sharing best practices and optimizations
  • Develop strategies to drive engagement and build community, engaging and interacting with followers
  • Run paid ads through Facebook Business Manager, optimizing campaigns for high performance
  • Transcribe, caption, and caption check video content as required
  • Keep up with breaking news and pitch timely content ideas
  • Work closely with teams across the organization, including Programming, Marketing, and Public Relations to ensure consistency and cohesive strategy
  • Track content performance, discovering and implementing actionable insights
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to interpret and analyze all available data to make strategic and tactical recommendation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' relevant social content creation experience
  • Entertainment or music industry experience is preferred

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Extensive experience managing a large brand’s Instagram account and background providing live social coverage at off-site events 
  • Experience creating engaging assets from scratch using the Adobe suite for Instagram Feed and Stories
  • Thorough understanding of Instagram, including latest techniques for growing audience and engagement 
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure, flourishing in a fast-paced environment
  • Available nights and weekends to perform community engagement and cover live events when requested
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills to carry out a metrics-driven approach to content creation 
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally across teams
  • Comfortable with travel to offsites when applicable
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S. 

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Advanced knowledge of social media software
  • Advanced understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite is required
  • Experience with video production is a plus
