We are looking for a dynamic Advertising Sales Lead to join our startup team and lead strategy globally for our B2B Advertising programs through partner sales networks and direct relationships with brands and agencies. The ideal candidate is a marketing and business athlete with a startup mentality - able to collaborate effectively with marketers, creatives and account sales executives globally. This candidate is a passionate storyteller, strategic thinker, and skilled cross-cultural communicator who has a proven track record building sales and marketing initiatives that drive revenue. The ideal candidate also has experience launching new advertising products, managing media budgets, coordinating events, managing partner relationships, training sales managers and coordinating creative delivery across a global matrix.
You are at once a Sales lead, B2B Product Marketer & Account Manager rolled into one. An existing network of brands and agencies and a deep understanding of the ins and outs of media buying is essential, as you will represent the Sonos brand to experienced media planners and buyers, sales teams, agencies and brands around the world. You will educate and partner with internal product, marketing, communications and creative teams to launch new advertising formats and develop B2B marketing programs that position the value of the Sonos audience and our unique advertising capabilities.
What You'll Do
Market the Sonos ad platform to command presence and establish Sonos as a new arrival, but strategic thought leader in the space by building programs and collateral that communicates the value of the Sonos ad platform to advertisers.
Build and manage strategic level relationships at the planning/strategy level in agencies and directly with clients.
Manage the end-to-end process of securing direct advertising relationships, inclusive of: RFP responses and pitch decks, campaign ideation, negotiation and contract execution.
Develop a short term and long term sales strategy inclusive of an approach to creating and managing a sales pipeline and target list.
Identify, describe and ultimately help develop new capabilities that contribute to Sonos’ unique advantage in the market.
Act as the strategic partner to internal product, marketing, communications and creative teams to identify, describe and ultimately launch new capabilities, ad formats and packages that contribute to Sonos’ unique advantage in the market.
Collaborate with internal commercial/marketing teams to trade advertising inventory with strategic partners for other valued opportunities for Sonos.
As the business grows, build, train & manage a sales team to support you.
What You'll Need
8+ years media sales experience, with media planning or buying experience as a plus.
BA/BS or equivalent in Marketing or Business related field. MBA Preferred.
Established relationships with both agencies and brands.
Proven track record hitting sales quotas and growing a market.
Strong relationship management skills with ability to influence key partners on a global level.
Media and advertising sales experience including understanding of digital audio/podcasting/programmatic/sponsorship/audience buying and monetization models both in the U.S. and globally. Ideal candidate has international experience in addition to domestic and is able to travel both domestically and internationally.
Entrepreneurial, creative, organized, self-motivated with strong attention to detail
Ability to be proactive, take ownership and work independently to meet aggressive performance goals.
Impeccable cross-cultural communication and relationship management skills, across both internal and external constituencies.
Proven track record assuming ownership, moving quickly to implement ideas, and delivering results in a fast-paced online environment.
Experience with training sales teams and public speaking at conferences and on panels.
