VICE Audio is bringing the cutting edge, award winning documentary reporting of VICE News to your ears. We are looking for seasoned audio designers who can work with a team and autonomously to record, mix and design for multi-part audio documentaries and our growing slate of podcasts.
As a sound designer you will be tasked with creating captivating soundscape for a variety of podcast projects. You will be an integral part of editorial conversations about how we want a story to sound and the development of storytelling through audio. You will be encouraged to push the medium forward in new ways and come up with creative solutions to storytelling challenges. Ensure the delivery of high quality audio, and audio edit for continuity, content integrity, style, consistency, and structure. At a minimum you will be mixing and mastering episodes to industry standard.
The Sound Designer will also need to maintain audio file management, adhere to naming conventions and data storage. Sound Designer will work in close collaboration with producers to conceptualize the audio first storytelling from conception to completion. Ability to do creative work under hard production deadlines expected.
