Job Description

The Global Communication Director is a critical hire for TuneCore. S/he will be charged with strategically positioning the company as it takes on disruptive growth. TuneCore has experienced consistent scale, and is planning for future growth and continued market leadership. To achieve this desired success, the company’s strategic marketing and communications initiatives must be delivered at the highest level of performance. 

Reporting to Believe’s Chief Communications Officer from a functional point of view, with a dotted line to the CMO of TuneCore from a business point of view, the Communication Director will be part of the Communication department of Believe. S/he will be responsible for defining TuneCore’s communication strategy and promoting TuneCore’s corporate identity across the globe. S/he will be responsible for leading the firm’s strategy and plans around awareness, public relations, events/collateral, press releases, campaigns as well as web strategies. The ideal candidate will be passionate about music and communication and TuneCore’s mission and products, and will help communicate the value-proposition to the marketplace with great effectiveness and clear messaging. S/he will create the strategic market positioning and the messaging to the organization and focus in on creating market visibility and awareness. S/he should have a demonstrated track record of creating critical mass and generating an excitable buzz in the marketplace. 

The Global Communication Director will have a strong balance of creating thought leadership content while continuing to drive the firms’ position in the marketplace. S/he will create communications programs that ultimately achieve corporate objectives and lead targeted campaigns for specific vertical marketing objectives as well as supporting sales to achieve their goals. The Global Communication Director will also partner with the marketing team to develop media campaigns and strategies to include active social media campaigns and website design and management, imagery and messaging that support PR and corporate communication initiatives. The Communication Director will work closely with the CEO and CMO to promote consistent branding and to make decisions on communications.  Overall, this individual must be able to articulate his or her outlook on the company’s direction and be a strategic communicator who can identify creative ways to further build the business as the de-factor leader in the space. 

The Communication Director will also play a key role in facilitating the integration of TuneCore into the Believe group. S/he will work in close collaboration with the central Communication team based in Paris to ensure that all TuneCore employees feel part of the Believe family at global level and that we leverage TuneCore activities and business results to nurture Believe corporate story in external communications and vice versa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead communication and public relations strategy and be able to develop quantifiable objectives to measure results and ROI. S/he will work closely with the marketing team to provide input and guidance on brand messaging, positioning and social media strategies and partner with the Entertainment Relations team on activations at events and tradeshows.
  • Lead positioning to develop a vision and language for the brands’ mission, for external communication.
  • Act as a Spokesperson for the business and be a clear communicator of its products and services. Provide media and public speaking training for select executives in the organization.
  • Partner with the marketing team to cultivate accompanying collateral, content, and press releases that create an overarching and consistent message and narrative for the company.
  • Experience with all media platforms including: print, social/ digital, and video in a global environment.
  • Continue to position TuneCore as the market leader in the minds of customers, press and analysts.
  • Act as official spokesperson for Believe in the US.
