The A Side: A Day in The Life

The Global Catalogue team is responsible for UMG’s catalogue, compilations, Audio-Visual and Licensing businesses for all of our labels excluding Classical (with whom we also work closely) on a Global level.

As a dynamic, forward thinking team we ensure territories achieve optimum revenue opportunities by delivering releases and marketing support. The B Side: Skills & Experience

Be Collaborative

  • Responsible for handling key relationships with UMG’s network of Partner Labels (3rd party labels licensed under UMG)
  • Liaise closely with each partner/label/mgmt.. to ensure concise catalogue plans are initiated, planned and co-ordinated, both for shorter term campaigns, and across wider, longer-term business strategies 

Be Financial

  •  Build and manage project P&L ensuring each campaign falls within set and agreed budgets
  • Collect, check & submit costed marketing plans for approval and manage campaign within agreed budgetary limits

Be Organised

  • Oversee and represent acts assigned to you via the key artist roster list (on top of Partner Label responsibilities)
  • Manage and oversee releases, artists and label campaigns
  • Manage and control all aspects of a campaign taking relevant action on required dates to ensure completion of product, communication and services for set launch date
  • Run ‘insight’ analytics reports to help guide partners and territories on best opportunities, sku’s, assets etc for campaign
  • Administer markets requests for tools and assets with appropriate repertoire centre
  • Manage all aspects of product development and marketing from concept to completion on given projects.
  • Represent international requirements & strategy in Partner Label/Repertoire owner meetings and conference calls
  • Create and run central digital marketing campaigns and spends across nominated digital platforms and socials

Be Commercial

  • Devise marketing/release strategies alongside UMG territories to maximise opportunity around the release/moment
  • Identify under-exploited commercial opportunities across each Partner & roster and build plans to remedy across any and all formats
  • Ensure creative output of content and repertoire in the form of new products that will generate meaningful revenues for worldwide territories

  • Passion for music
  • Experienced in developing A-List artist plans and strategies
  • Very strong communication skills
  • A team player with creative ideas and solutions
  • Commercially focussed and highly motivated, disciplined and organised with excellent time management skills
  • Desire and ability to drive projects – from inception to completion
  • Flexible and capable of juggling responsibilities
  • Comfortable working under pressure and with a fast moving and rapidly developing roster
  • Good understanding of data analytics and insights to provide smart marketing opportunities and support decision making
  • Understanding of new music platforms and the best approach for each to maximise opportunities
  • Positive, proactive and pragmatic approach to any situation. Able to deal with problems as they may arise
  • Knowledgeable about current music trends and market trends
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Prepared to travel internationally as required


  • Good understanding and knowledge of Universal’s catalogue and repertoire
  • Knowledge of the international marketplace and how it is evolving
  • Good understanding of social channels, media opportunities & advertising formats
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good understanding of consumer insights & segmentation practices
  • Music Industry marketing experience
