Job Description


In this role you’ll lead internal teams and liaise with external clients, vendors and partners on a daily basis. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in Technical production management for large-scale entertainment, corporate and live experiential events. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Administration/Management

    • Collaborate with the Head of Production and Technical Director with planning and budgeting of production requirements including audio, lighting, power, labor and others.  
    • Build excellent relationships with corporate & venue team, vendors, key consultants through positive, consistent communications.  Ensure that senior management is aware of potential issues.
    • Advise on labor and budget allocation for events with Production, Programmering, Operations and People teams.
    • Ensure that projects and events are scheduled accurately and are kept on track.
    • Strategize with Head of Production and COO to realign projects if production objectives are not being met.
    • Connect with Finance on financial reporting, methodologies, goals and strategies on a regular basis
    • Work with HR to support and maintain a healthy and productive company culture.
    • Initiate effective and healthy collaboration across all departments.

  • Event Management

    • Liaise with our internal Programming team as well as external clients and partners, to execute production plans and maintain control of event budgets.
    • On-site supervision to ensure quality of production teams, will be in rotation with the production managers to act as the run of show manager on event nights.
    • Work closely with Programming, Production and Venue management to ensure delivery of specific client needs as required. 
    • Collaborate with creative, marketing, operations, and finance teams to ensure compliance, proper safe use, and smooth operations
  • Staff Development

    • Assume responsibility for creating a positive and productive team environment.  Ensure adherence to safety policies and clean, organized surroundings.
    • Performance Management.  Goal setting, performance evaluations, disciplinary action.
    • Ensure knowledge sharing and training to ensure the team is completing work as  efficiently as possible with maximum productivity.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in live event planning and producing with experience as a supervisor, manager or director roles. Experience with a variety of event types including large scale nightlife, concert, festival and/or live entertainment events.
  • Leadership ability - hire, train, motivate, mentor, and inspire a large and diverse team of full & part-time staff. Ability to coach through performance issues as well as develop the right skills and behaviors. Previous experience managing other people managers.
  • Ability to read and understand complex technical documents and disseminate information to non-technical team members.
  • Able to collaborate with other departments, navigate through competing priorities and agendas, address new challenges as they arise.
  • Client facing abilities - able to engage in professional dialogue and appropriate manage client expectations while ensuring delivery of client or partner requirements.
  • Able to handle numerous projects simultaneously at varying levels of event production requirements.  
  • Ability to prioritize while adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
  • Excellent supplier/vendor knowledge, contract negotiation skills and knowledge of market pricing
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to remain positive under stressful conditions.
  • Significant hands-on troubleshooting experience with technical systems.
  • Knowledge of lighting design, analog & digital audio systems, signal flow, networking and other technical proficiencies, including rigging and power.
  • Experience in integration of touring production requirements and working with external and internal event producers. 
  • Familiarity with state and federal labor laws
  • Computer skill sets including: Microsoft Office / GSuite, Vectorworks / Sketchup
  • Excellent written & verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including late nights and weekends
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as this position will expose the candidate to sensitive information
  • Must be able to exercise discretion in dealing with staff, vendors and partners when dealing with delicate matters
  • Warm demeanor and ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
