Head of Programming and Events
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 DOE plus performance-related bonus
Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: Newcastle
Regular travel to Manchester & Brixton as required
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Start date: November 2025
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, with evenings and weekends as required by the events schedule

We are in a period of ambitious national expansion. We are seeking a visionary Head of Programming and Events to lead our creative output, shape our national events strategy, and elevate Freight Island as a cultural leader in the UK hospitality-entertainment sector.
The Role
This senior management position combines creative programming, strategic vision, commercial acumen, and industry influence. The successful candidate will oversee all programming across our venues, from intimate cultural happenings to major live gigs. Each site should reflect the local audience while contributing to a unified national brand identity.
