Mixmag AE Group is seeking a Strategic Placement & Business Development Manager — a culturally connected, entrepreneurial individual who can strengthen Mixmag’s physical and commercial presence across all territories, while driving growth through meaningful partnerships.
This role combines strategic print distribution management with international business development. You will lead the process of ensuring that every Mixmag print edition reaches the most influential cultural touchpoints worldwide — clubs, festivals, record stores, agencies, management offices, and community spaces where the electronic music industry meets, collaborates, and discovers new ideas.
Beyond placement, you’ll leverage those relationships to unlock new business opportunities, negotiate deals, and expand Mixmag’s reach in both existing and new markets. Your work will directly influence how the brand is seen, discussed, and valued across territories.

Global Placement Strategy:
Develop and manage a structured distribution plan for each print edition, ensuring Mixmag magazines are placed in the most relevant and high-impact venues, events, record shops, and cultural hubs and more, across all territories.
Territorial Expansion:
Build, oversee, and grow a global network of partners — from clubs and festivals to creative agencies and hubs like record stores — ensuring Mixmag’s visibility and influence continue to expand in both established and emerging regions.
Relationship Development:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with club owners, festival organisers, record shop managers, agency leads, and promoters to secure ongoing placement opportunities.
Partnership Negotiation:
Negotiate agreements with distribution partners and venues to host Mixmag displays or shelves featuring the latest editions.
Tracking & Performance:
Use management tools such as Notion to track placements, partner activity, and performance metrics. Report regularly on visibility outcomes, expansion progress, and business impact.
Commercial Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities generated from Mixmag’s enhanced market presence. Develop territory-specific growth plans and contribute to the creation of sponsorship and brand partnership deals.
Collaboration:
Work closely with editorial, creative, and commercial teams to align placement strategy with brand activations, campaigns, and client goals.
Representation:
Represent Mixmag AE Group at events, festivals, conferences, and meetings globally to strengthen our position as a cultural and commercial leader in electronic music.
Success in this role will be measured against clear performance metrics, including:
Placement Expansion: Number and quality of new distribution or placement partnerships secured across territories.
Revenue Growth: New commercial opportunities and brand partnerships generated through expanded presence.
Market Reach: Increased visibility of Mixmag across international venues, events, festivals, and cultural spaces.
Relationship Retention: Growth and longevity of key strategic partners including CRM management
Operational Efficiency: Accurate, consistent tracking and reporting of placements and outcomes via Notion or equivalent tools.
Proven Experience: Demonstrable background in business development, partnerships, or cultural distribution within music, media, or events.
Strong Network: Established connections across the global electronic music scene — including promoters, venues, festivals, and agencies.
Territorial Insight: Experience working across multiple markets and an understanding of cultural nuances that drive engagement.
Commercial Acumen: Skilled in negotiation, outreach, and partnership growth, with the ability to link visibility to revenue opportunities.
Organised & Tech-Savvy: Comfortable managing workflows and data using Notion or similar management systems.
Multilingual: Fluency in at least two of English, Spanish, or German preferred.
Collaborative & Strategic: Works well across international teams to align business objectives with brand integrity.
Culturally Fluent: Deep passion for music, nightlife, and creative communities, understanding what makes Mixmag essential in those spaces.
