Job Description

The Senior Tax Associate/Analyst will be responsible for tax compliance and planning throughout Kobalt Music Group. Reporting to the Director of Tax, the Sr. Associate will ensure that all returns and filings are completed and filed on time in every territory where Kobalt operates. Additionally, the Sr. Associate will be responsible for delivering key tax projects – with the help of our advisors where appropriate.

Kobalt have built the technology infrastructure to enable better reporting and for artists to maintain ownership and control over how their work is distributed, tracked, collected, and monetized.  This global technology platform can track and collect royalties for the billions of micro-payments per song in digital music today.

  • Consolidated corporate tax return preparation and review
  • International indirect tax return preparation (VAT, GST)
  • Informational and withholding tax return preparation (1099, 1042)
  • Assist with financial reporting for income taxes under IAS 12
  • Reconcile tax general ledger accounts
  • Manage the global tax calendar
  • Assist with global transfer pricing
  • Implement new efficiencies with the creation or streamlining of workpapers and procedures



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • A CPA or CPA candidate is highly preferred
  • Proficient in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Strong interpersonal skills – including ability to work with and challenge others
  • Strong team player and proactive approach to work
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Experience with GoSystem Tax software is preferred
