Are you an Audio Engineer looking to get an exciting 3 month project under your belt? We are working on some amazing things and want you to be a part of it! Main purpose of job The Audio Engineer is responsible for quality control of audio assets, metadata and system and asset level support for domestic and international users of our asset management systems. The Engineer is also responsible for trouble shooting domestic and international supply chain issues. This person must be highly organized with a sharp focus on details. Key skills include system support, troubleshooting, audio digitization, music and song structure knowledge and general Windows networking skills. Note that this is not a creative mixing or mastering position in the company, although knowledge or experience of these skills is beneficial. Person Specification - Essential Knowledge & Experience Minimum 3 years experience audio engineering/ audio editing / mastering professionally. Knowledge and experience of digitization, audio master assembly, upload, clip creation and quality control of digital audio content. Experience with physical master creation and troubleshooting (DDP, DVD, and Blu ray etc). Knowledge of DSD and SACD spec. Audio editing experience and knowledge of digital audio anomalies needed as the engineer will be tasked with quality control and troubleshooting audio assets. Must be tech savvy and able to quickly become adept at many company systems. Experience in Customer service essential – good communication skills. Main responsibilities including but not limited to: Detailed audio quality control. Audio asset ingestion into management systems. General help with completing daily work queues as well as large ongoing projects. Clearly communicating issues with assets to the job requestor. Clearly communicating systems issues to the proper support teams. Occasional light editing/mastering of assets if requested. Demonstrable Skills/Experience with: Troubleshooting techniques. Detailed knowledge of digital audio. General knowledge of audio quality attributes. General knowledge of digital compression formats/techniques. General knowledge of legacy sound carriers. General knowledge in the following applications: Audio editors (Sequoia, Sound Forge, Protools), Digital Asset Management Applications and processes, Audio digitization systems, Validation of high resolution audio files, FTP/SFTP (Filezilla, etc), Word, Excel, Outlook, Examples of Audio Processes: Audio master package creation from a PMCD or a file based format through software based tools. Detailed quality control and quality assurance of audio masters. Data entry. Migration of assets into the asset management system. High Res Audio provenance checks. DSD creation from SACD. Clip point identification (first verse, chorus, etc). Metadata and asset level troubleshooting. Audio stem preparation or validation against approved stereo master. Personality/ Character Must be extremely detail oriented and focused to catch all audio errors. Keen to learn and become adept at the role quickly and efficiently. Flexible attitude toward workload and prioritising jobs over others. Good grasp of song structure a must for efficient clip point creation. Excellent communication skills.
